For the past couple weeks, students have been working diligently on their Science Work Samples. We have been studying the properties of water and our investigation, "Drops on a Penny," tested water surface tension. First we found out how many drops of water would fit on a nickel. Then, we created a hypothesis about how many drops would fit on a penny. We tested our hypotheses and also found out which side of the penny (heads or tails) would hold more drops of water. I was so proud of my students during this activity! They were thinking, acting and investigating like real scientists! :-)
